Back in my younger years, I earned a BTEC National Diploma in audiovisual and an art foundation course. At the age of 50, I finally realised it was time to start doing what I should be doing, so I pursued a BA and MA in Arts.
I've always been a maker because both of my parents were makers. I find it difficult to settle on a medium and stick with it, which I believe stems from my early instruction in multi-skills. I don't mind, though, because I enjoy that I can use almost anything to make something.
I've come to understand that I unconsciously draw on my own experiences, and my thoughts and work are inspired by something deep inside of me.
My creative process is best characterised as a series of unplanned, random ideas that, as I go along, I'm able to connect to specific moments in my life.
These suppressed memories are filtered through more uplifting observational photographs of nature's beauty, the breathtaking countryside, cityscapes, beaches, the lovely earth, architecture, and our surroundings—all things I adore and find inspiring every day.
I work with several media, currently utilising silver, copper, enamel, and embroidery to create delicate but powerful jewellery, take on commission work.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I have created each piece by hand, and all of them were drawn inspiration by my own subconscious and memories.
